Mount Pana, in Santa Cristina, is a well known destination by those who practice cross-country skiing. In this area there are several trails of varying difficulty, that go through the wonderful panorama of the valley. For beginners and experts, in classic and skating technique, this area in the shadow of Sassolungo offers unique nordic ski experiences in Val Gardena.
Among the most beautiful and challenging tracks there is certainly one that connects Mount Pana to the Alpe di Siusi, a paradise for cross-country skiers with its 80 km of ski slopes, surrounded by spectacular and always sunny scenery.
The route is 3.9 km long and connects Saltria to Mount Pana Nordic ski Center, in a beautiful natural setting. The track is quite challenging, with a total vertical drop of 122 m: the first part has a quite descent and the second part climbs steadily up to 1787 m. at the arrival.

Shuttles and connections: The road leading to the Alpe di Siusi’s area is closed to private traffic from 9 am to 5 pm. From 9 am to 5 pm Alpe di Siusi can be reached by the Alpe di Siusi Cableway from Siusi village or by bus from Castelrotto

A dolomite plateau that rises to an average altitude of 1,850 m above sea level and extends between Val Gardena, the Sassolungo Group, and the Sciliar massif, it is the largest pasture area in Europe, divided into numerous grazing plots. The area is rich in infrastructure for summer and winter tourism, and thus it is an ideal destination especially for cross-country skiers.
