12th STAGE: Oyace - Rey (13 km)
From the town of Oyace the path goes up through the meadows, intersecting sections of the dirt road and then, once passed the pasture of Eclevey, it enters a conifer wood where it begins to climb up. It reaches the pasture of Suchéaz and, continuing climbing in the wood, the Brison pasture. After a long diagonal, the track, with tight hairpin turns, goes up for the last steep slope leading to Col Brison (2,480 m.)
From here there is a first fairly strong descent, into pastures and rocky outcrops, until you reach a panoramic flat area, where begins the long diagonal crossing that leads to the pastures of Berrio Superiore (1,938 m.). At this point you take the dirt road that goes down, with a slight slope, first through meadows and then through the forest to reach the town of Ollomont. In a few minutes, along the asphalt road, you reach the village of Rey (1,393 m.).

The Col de Brison is a mountain pass located at a not too high altitude (2,480 meters), between Mont Faceballa and Pointes d'Ollomont, connecting Comba Brison with Comba de Berrio. The territory around the hill is characterized by a dense forest and it is crossed by some ancient mountain pastures. The landscape is charming.
The town is located where Valpelline Valley opens into a large green plain, a valley that has been a crossing point since ancient times. Ollomont is the starting point for important mountain climbs, especially to the Grand Combin and the Mount Vélan, and for beautiful hikes through a little known place surrounded by wild nature. For sport lovers in Ollomont there is a cross-country ski track, a climbing wall, a MTB path, ice waterfalls and heli-skiing. Interesting is the traditional folkloric Donkey Festival, which culminates with the donkeys Palio, an event attended by several regional teams.
