From Turin to Superga, between history and nature
The excursion starts from the first Salesian Oratory - where the Path originated thanks to Don Bosco who used to walk here with the boys that he gather from the street - to become a journey through the history of Turin through the centuries, from the Roman ruins of Augusta Taurinorum to the palaces of the Savoy Kingdom. A fascinating journey along the Po river up to the Meisino Natural Reserve, then to the hill and the Basilica of Superga, an extraordinary vantage point of Turin, surrounded by the Alps.
Technical description: From the Sanctuary of Mary Help of Christians you go through the center of Turin ‘till Piazza Vittorio Veneto, and then over the bridge Vittorio Emanuele I. Then you turn left and, for about 7 km, you walk along the bank of the Po river, through the Meisino Natural Reserve until you reach the Bajno bridge. From here there is a 4 km long trail (n.20) that goes up to the Basilica of Superga.
