Home » Adige River Cycle Path – Stage #2
2nd ROUTE: Silandro – Merano (42 km)
Technical description:
The bike-tour along the Adige River Cycle Path starts from Silandro in the direction of Laces, following country lanes through vast rows of fruit trees.
Amid the eternal apple orchards that lap the Vinschgau Valley bike path on both sides, the route goes as far as Castelbello, overlooked by the striking fortress.
As the Adige gradually gains more and more flow, you pedal on to Stava, Naturno, Plaus, Rablà and Plars, small towns that anticipate the sharp descent to the gates of Merano.
This is where the part of the route along the Venosta Valley Cycle Path ends. The bike tour, however, continues following the flow of the Adige River, with views of Bolzano.

The Adige Valley bike path is one of the most beautiful and important in northern Italy. It is 300 km long and leads from the headwaters of the river near the Reschen Pass in Upper Vinschgau to its mouth in the Adriatic Sea near Rosolina Mare.
The entire route can be divided into several stages and is popular with cycle tourists. In fact, the route is almost exclusively flat, or downhill in its initial section, and the trail has an easily passable bottom.
