Home » Along the Romea Vicetia Strata: from Barbarano Vicentino to Montagnana
The Romea Strata is an ancient pilgrimage route traveled over the centuries by faithful eager to get to Rome and then on to Jerusalem.
Here we propose the flat section of the route (22 km) that moves from Barbarano Vicentino to the south of Vicenza, arriving near Montagnana, one of the most beautiful walled cities in the Veneto region.
Along the way we encounter two splendid 16th-century architectural works: the Palladian-style town hall of Noventa Vicentina and Villa Pojana, the work of Andrea Palladio and now protected by UNESCO.
The typically agrarian landscape is characterized by the Berici Hills on one side and the Euganean Hills of volcanic origin on the other.
