Long road itinerary from Cingoli leads to the discovery of the small village of Elcito, a real gem perched on the slopes of Mount San Vicino in the territory of San Severino Marche. Passing first by Lake Cingoli, then passing through several small towns, the climb from Castel San Pietro begins, leading to the destination in five steep kilometers. As you descend to the valley, you resume the loop trail that leads back to Cingoli from a completely different slope than where you started.

Technical description:
From Viali Valentini, in the historic center of Cingoli, follow the signs for the sports facilities, reaching, after a quick descent, the dam of Lake Cingoli. From here the climb (4 km) to Apiro starts. Leaving the village, taking in the direction of San Severino, we first reach Frontale and then the village of Castel San Pietro where the 5-kilometer ‘dolomite’ climb to Elcito begins.
The return route takes bikers back to Castel S. Pietro downhill, pointing in the direction of San Severino. After a few ups and downs, you cross Provincial Road 502which returns in 15 km of easy going to Cingoli.

Technical tips:
The route is for trained cyclists: the climb to Elcito is really steep and challenging. If you wish, you can continue for another 6 km and reach Canfaito and the San Vicino meadows.
It is useful to consult maps well to know the morphology of the places traversed and to carry clothing suitable for wind and rain.
Water can be found in all towns crossed.
