From the coastal to the inland, starting from Torre Vado towards Morciano di Leuca, to the ancient Messapian town of Patù.
A scenic route to discover Salento’s inland beauty, history and local architecture. The tour allows you to experience Puglia’s colors and flavors, pedaling through Leuca’s Alyssum, thyme, myrtle and various species of wild orchids.
Technical description:
A 23 km long easy route. The only climbs, not very demanding, are from Torre Vado towards Patù. The roads do not have bike paths but the historic centers are passable without encountering particular traffic. Bicycles can be rented at the Residence ‘Miramare’ in Torre Vado.
Technical tips:
In summer the stretches that connect the towns are exposed to the sun, no shade. Passing through several towns it is easy to find rest stops where to fill up water bottles or stop to drink.
