Garda - Ledro: the Ponale Path

Among the many wonderful trails in the Lake Garda area, this is definitely one of the most beautiful and well-known.
Riva del Garda and Ledro -  starting and arrival points - could in itself justify this tour, but what you can see along the way is even more exciting.
The Ponale Path presents various stretches to the edge of the lake, alternating splendid views to passages in the woods.

Technical description:
It’s since 2004 that this spectacular road overlooking the lake was turned into a path: the path is 24.5 km long and it has dirt and asphalt roads.
The first part has uphill stretches along the ridge, with a wonderful view of Lake Garda; you can always ride your bike even on dirt roads, motor vehicles are not allowed. The second part alternates cycle path and regular road, through the woods up to Lake Ledro.

Technical tips:
It is a cycle path, so there are no special care to report. Halfway there is a bar where you can drink and eat.
