HERO Südtirol Dolomites 2016 - 86 km

A route on the most picturesque Dolomite mountain peaks that are also the most frequented by bikers from all over the world.

The most difficult track of the HERO Südtirol Dolomites 2016 - international event for mountain bike lovers, starting on June 19th - goes through some of the most famous Alpine Passes of the Dolomites (Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi and Duron), in a spectacular loop path between the peaks of the Sella Group (3,152 m.) and Sassolungo (3,181 m.).

The total route is 86 km long with 4,500 meters of difference in height, to be done on a track that for the 70% is off-road.

The route starts from Selva di Val Gardena going to Corvara, passing by Dantercepies and Gardena Pass (2,121 m.). Cycling towards Arabba you cross Pralonghià and Campolongo Pass, then you reach Val di Fassa through the Sourasass (2,351 m.) first and then the Pordoi Pass (2,239 m.).

After 50 km begins the descent towards Canazei. You cycle in Val di Fassa up to the Duron Pass (2,280 m.) passing through Campitello. With some ups and downs you ride alongside the Group of Sassolungo, going back to Val Gardena through the forestall route of Mount Pana.

With a final stretch on the legendary Saslong ski slope, the loop route ends back in Selva.
