Cycling on the Dolomites "4 Passes"

Sellaronda” is the name given to the road (and skiing) path around the Dolomite Group of Sella, between the valleys of Fassa, Livinallongo, Badia and Gardena.
The Sellaronda is also known as the “4 Passes Tour” because it runs along four Alps passages (Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo and Gardena) and it is loved by the cyclists
Since 2006 the "Sellaronda Bike Day" is held: an amateur non-competitive event where traffic is not allowed on the 4 Passes, so for a day the road is reserved for bicycles’ lovers.
Starting from the Sellaronda track there is also the famous Granfondo race “Marathon of the Dolomites” that is held every year on the first Sunday in July.

Technical description:
The path starts from Badia and it has a first flat part up to Corvara, at the foot of the Group of Sella.
Here starts the climb to Colfosco and then the 60 kilometers loop path that goes counter-clockwise through the four Dolomites mountain passes: Gardena Pass (2.134 mt), Sella Pass (2.244 mt), Pordoi Pass (2.239 mt) and finally Campolongo Pass (1.875 mt), after the little descent to Arabba.

The descent on the way back to Corvara and then Badia is going to be a relief!
