A special event branded Vacanzattiva, which with the Ebike&Eat brand combines cycling tourism withfood and wine. On Easter Monday (Monday, April 3) we will ride a “classic” of Bologna’s first suburbs, the Navile Canal Cycle Path.

The tour starts from the park of Villa Angeletti in Bologna and ends at the park of Villa Smeraldi in San Marino di Bentivoglio: 15 kilometers in total along the Navile Canal, so called because in the past it was navigable to the sea thanks to the use of its locks.

Technical description:
The route is suitable for everyone, including children. The route, all on the plain, runs mostly alongside the canal, which was completely dredged and cleaned up a decade ago.
Most of the trail is dirt, partly on trail and partly on bike path; only the last kilometer is on bike path next to the road.

At the Villa Smeraldi park, you can visit the Museum of Peasant Civilization, which offers a unique record of work and life in the countryside between the 19th and 20th centuries.

Technical tips:
The track is not particularly difficult. You just have to be careful if it has rained a lot, because there might be some passages that are a little dirty, but only in extreme cases.
Most of the route is on bicycle path with compacted soil.

Recommended period:
All year round. In summer, much of the trail is shaded, so it is passable even in hot weather.
