Description of the route
A beautiful ride that starts from the town of Cagli (PU) and travels along the old SS Flaminia road-which connects Rome to the Adriatic coast-to Cantiano, a few kilometers from the Umbria-Marches border. You are immersed in history and nature, on a road with little traffic, among water springs and ancient Roman buildings.
Along this 10-kilometer route you will encounter a Roman bridge that is still in working order.
Cantiano, is at the foot of the Monte Catria massif (1,701 mt) – one of the main peaks of the Umbria-Marches Apennines – with its extensive and centuries-old tall beech forests.
Technical description:
It starts from Cagli to travel along the old section of the Via Flaminia. One proceeds as if one were to take the freeway to Rome, but once past the underpass, one takes the road that actually runs alongside it, where there is very little traffic, and finally arrives in Cantiano.
