Home » From Cingoli to Monte San Vicino in Mtb
Long 39 km Mtb route through various environments, with challenging but not excessive technical difficulties.
From the scenic Cingoli we cross the beautiful valley of San Bonfiglio to reach Lake Castreccioni from which it is already possible to see our destination: the unmistakable profile of Mount San Vicino.
A long transfer on back roads crosses the countryside at the foot of the mountain to Frontale, the gateway to the east side of the San Vicino.
During the ascent, there are remarkable views of the valley before a challenging descent.
Technical description:
From Viali Valentini, in the city center of Cingoli, follow the signs to the Palasport and the Shooting Range, in front of which the S. Bonfiglio trail begins. A few meters of asphalt and dirt road and you reach the ruins of the ancient church dedicated to the saint, from which, keeping to the left, after a short time you cross the imbrecciata that leads to Monte Nero.
Our goal, however, is a different one: we take a right and on asphalt to reach Lake Cingoli and its dam.
Skirting the shore for a stretch, we pass through the built-up area of Castreccioni via Azzoni. Beyond the small hamlet continue on imbrecciata into the countryside at the foot of the mountain, passing a crossroads, until it crosses the road that enters Frontale and then the adjacent Villanova.
Here begins the long, and at times steep, climb up the east side of the San Vicino. A loop is followed that peaks at 938 m. of elevation and which, after a challenging descent, leads back to Villanova and then Frontale.
