Cycling in the heart of Sardinia, among the silent and suspended atmospheres of theGiara plateau. An island within the island Sa Jara, where man is almost a guest and life follows the free spirit of wild horses and the beautiful spring blooms of daffodils, orchids and buttercups.
Among the paths, roads, and basaltic depressions(Paulis) of the Giara Park, we explore interesting natural areas, nuragic sites, and small but quaint towns.

The loop route is 38 km long, starting and ending atTurri.
Itleaves the town proceeding in the direction of Tuili and then towards Barumini, along a road that crosses the extensive Marmilla countryside. After observing “
Su Nuraxi
“, the most important nuraghe in Sardinia (Unesco heritage site), we arrive in Barumini, where we turn left to the village of Gesturi.
From here you take the road that begins to climb toward La Giara. To get to the heart of theplateau , cross the bar at the information point, pedaling to the end of the climb where the dirt road begins. At the square-parking lot, take the road to the right, which, after passing through a gate, begins the path across the plateau.
Follow the main road avoiding the various detours, continuing to ride following the signs for Setzu and Genuri. It skirts the Salamengianu spring, a hut su masoni and several pinnettas (shepherds’ huts) to the beginning of the paved road where the descent to Genuri begins.
After 1.7 km, at a wide hairpin bend to the left, a visit to the nearby “Sa domu de s’Orcu” with ancient burial caves carved into the rock is recommended.
Continuing downhill, after 500 meters, at another hairpin bend to the left, take an unmarked dirt road that goes around the slopes of the plateau, first up and down then downhill, reaching the inhabited area of Genuri, passing the church and the nuraghe of San Marco.
