Home » North of Vicenza, along the Via Romea Strata
The Romea Strata is an ancient pilgrimage route traveled over the centuries by faithful eager to get to Rome and then on to Jerusalem.
One of the stages of the path-the one we propose-starts from the town of Torrebelvicino and arrives in Vicenza, through a true spiritual path, which connects all the shrines and churches in the towns of northern Vicenza to the city center.
It starts from the foothills of the Little Dolomites and arrives in the historic center of Vicenza, the city of Palladio par excellence.
The religiosity of the itinerary is evident and perceptible precisely because one passes through parishes that still live by their rituals.
Technical description:
The route does not present any particular technical difficulties because it is almost completely level: it is well marked and the sections are intuitive. There are not many drinking fountains along the route, however, as we pass through several villages, bars or small stores are always available where you can buy something to eat and drink.
Sometimes the route passes along some side street with no bike lane or sidewalk, so care must be taken. However, traffic is limited.
