The Adda valley is a succession of striking views, reachable from Milan in only 30 minutes by train.
Numerous scenic gems are encountered while cycling along the banks of the Po’s longest tributary.
There is Paderno, with its majestic iron bridge from the late 1800s and the naviglio (canal) built by the Austrians in the 1700s based on Leonardo’s designs; there is Porto with the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Rocchetta; Cornate with the historic Bertini and Esterle hydroelectric power plants; and Finally, Trezzo sull’ Adda, with the Visconti castle and the Taccani power plant.
Technical description:
The ‘route is looped and 28 km long, easy and flat, winding along the river towpath on dirt or asphalt surface, sheltered from motor traffic.
The ‘only stretch that is a bit strenuous is the short ascent (500 m.) from the river towpath.

Technical tips:
