Descrizione del percorso
6TH ROUTE: Aquileia – Cervignano del Friuli (29.2 km)
It is from Aquileia, after a fascinating dive into the history of the Roman Empire, that the sixth and final leg of the bike route along the Friulian Riviera begins.
You leave the UNESCO World Heritage city along the bicycle path to Belvedere (km 6.7) and, following the route of the magnificent Alpe Adria Radweg, you can detour to reach the town of Grado. Continuing along the route instead, the lagoon accompanies the ride for about 2 km, in a beautiful avenue of maritime pines, skirting the coastal dunes and pine forest.
Moving away from the blue of the lagoon, we first reach the village of Boscat, then those of San Lorenzo and Fiumicello (km 19) pedaling north. Here we switch from the bicycle path to the ordinary roadway for a short distance, until we find again on Viale della Libertà the bicycle path in its own seat leading to Villa Vicentina, passing through Borgo Sant’Antonio. In Scodovacca (km 24.8) is the botanical splendor of Villa Chiozza Park, a fantastic setting of trees, flowers, paths and small bridges.
The last kilometers lead to Cervignano del Friuli, where it all began, closing the loop formed by the six stages of the bike route exploring the Friuli Riviera by bicycle.
