Itinerary featured in the Guidebook Viatoribus: “Italia in Bici con Gusto”
Itinerary description:
The route is loop and 30 km long, starting and finishing at the Valmaron-Enego Refuge.
Past the “Centro Fondo” in Enego, take the dirt road on the right that climbs gently to the nearby Malghe di Val Bella, Campo di Sopra and di Val Brutta, on the slopes of the Colle Val d’Antenne.
At Malga Valcoperta di Sotto, a beautiful view of the Marcesina Plain and the highest peaks of the plateau immediately opens up. You then reach Malga Campo Capra di Sotto, pedaling inside a fir forest, where with a small detour (6.5 km) you can reach Riparo Dalmeri, one of the most important archaeological sites on prehistoric art in the Alps.
Resuming the main route, which is now flat, you reach Malga Scura, where you can make an invigorating stop with Asiago DOP cheese.
Continuing between gentle ups and downs, we reach the most characteristic section of the itinerary, at Albergo Marcesina, where a wide meadow basin opens up, dotted with alpine huts, pastures and spring blooms.
The last section of the trail leads to the Rèndole locality-at the Marcesina Refuge-and then touches on Malga IV° Lotto Valmaron and, finally, the Malga 7 Caliere farm, a place of dairy production.
