Home » The Turks’ Coast in Trekking
The route, among the most evocative in Salento, follows the coastline passing from cliffs to long, white beaches, between the green of scrub and pine forests and the turquoise of the sea.
Notable is the Baia dei Turchi beach, largely free of bathing facilities. At the mouth of Lake Alimini, however, is the long beach of Alimini.
St. Andrew’s Bay is dominated by the 16th-century tower of the same name, wedged between the cliff and the stacks. Between St. Andrew’s and Torre Bay we discover the‘Cave of Poetry,’ with its graffiti, and the site of Rocavecchia, with its rock village overlooking the sea and interesting archaeological area.4h
