Home » Trekking at Lake Tina
TheLigurian hinterland is certainly not rich in water. The Lirone Valley is a nice exception. This loop tour allows you to delve into its highest part, full of streams and waterfalls, until you reach Lake Tina, a reservoir of water created by the erosion of the Lirone stream-a great place to bathe as well.
Technical description:
From the parking lot, continue along the paved lane arriving at the trail posts: proceed straight ahead on the wide mule track that enters the vegetation climbing at a moderate gradient. The trail bends to the left, crossing a stream and proceeding along a scenic coastline, reaching Gua Pass after a 25-minute walk.
You then follow the path to the right in the direction of the Cianella shelter. The wide, comfortable mule track proceeds, ignoring a fork to the right and reaching a second fork: to the right is a quick detour leading to the nearby Cianella shelter (always open), where there is a fountain, while straight ahead (trail markers C2) the trail continues, arriving at a new fork well marked by a post. Here you ignore the left path down to Negrone Bridge and continue straight ahead, arriving at yet another fork in the road. There is a post here, too: ignore the right-hand path up to Gava Pass and proceed in the direction of Ruggi.
Proceeding almost level and with nice glimpses of the Lirone stream flowing below, we come to a first concrete bridge. Here, with a short, but somewhat exposed, detour to the right you arrive near a beautiful waterfall.
Cross the bridge and proceed, arriving at a second bridge, on the opposite side of which is the Ruggi locality, a structure dedicated to capturing water for the aqueduct.
After the bridge, turn left and you will reach a wooden signpost with directions to the Rocca Spacca trail, which should be ignored. Proceed on level ground to a hairpin bend, from where the C5 trail starts to the right, which is to be ignored. Here begins the descent that leads to the level of the stream(Passo du Figu), from where ascending it leads to Tina Lake, after 2.30 hours of total walking.
Back at Passo du Figu, climb up the opposite slope, pass a ford and reach a crossroads: ignoring the paths to the right and left, go straight ahead returning to Passo Gua, from where you return to the parking lot using the same route as the ascent.
A total of 3:30 hours was walked.
