Home » Two wheels in the city: Trento, the elegant embraced by the mountains
Explore the fascinating city of Trent by bicycle, pedaling among the architectural treasures of its small and ancient historic center, immersing yourself in the green parks and skirting the banks of theAdige River. A ‘gentle’ way of getting around, admiring a historic yet modern city surrounded by a typical Alpine natural landscape.
The 13-km loop route starts from the nerve center of Trentino life, Piazza del Duomo, overlooked by the imposing silhouettes of San Vigilio Cathedral and the Praetorian Palace. Proceeding south, we skirt the Palace of Justice, touching on the first park of the day, the Solzhenitsyn Garden.
Following the Fersina stream on a bike path, we pedal toward the southern suburbs, passing the Palazzetto dello Sport and reaching the banks of theAdige: The route then ascends the riverfront northward, passing through the large park in front of the new district designed by Renzo Piano, at the end of which is the renowned M.U.S.E.., Trento Museum of Science.
At the height of Ponte San Giorgio, we point the handlebars back toward the historic center, discovering notable sights such as Piazza Dante Park and Buonconsiglio Castle, a true historic icon of the city.
Passing through the San Marco Gardens and the small but lovely Piazza delle Erbe, we then return to Piazza Duomo.
