Home » Unusual Tuscany: the Lucido Valley by MTB
The Lucido Valley stands out from the typical Tuscany of pedaling among rolling hills, vast and well-maintained. Here we are in Lunigiana, at the foot of the Apuan Alps, in a treasure chest rich in naturalistic and historical gems, which takes the form of villages, castles and parish churches.
It is in this valley-named after the Lucido stream for its crystal clear waters-that the mountain bike loop route takes place.
With splendid views of the peaks of the Apuan Alps, the route traverses the eastern side of the Lucido Valley, known as“Costa dei Barbari,” and the western side,“Il Pioero,” among country roads planted with vineyards or olive groves.
From the medieval Castle of Aquila to the Equi Terme Caves, there is no shortage of opportunities to be fascinated by this wonderful land.
